the   Political   Section  of   the
Liberation   Tigeof Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Mr. S.P.Tamilselavn,   
who   is    currently   visiting European 
countries, met with Norway Foreign  Minister, officers and  
press,  on  Thersday   at 2.00  pm  
for  3 hours, at the Norway Foreign  ministry Office in Oslo.The 
Head  of LTTE's  Political Section,  Mr.S.P.Tamilselvan 
and   LTTE's Head of  peace secretariat,  Mr.Pulithevan,
participated in  the meeting with  Foreign Minister  Jan
Petersen   Undersecretary   of   State 
VidarHelgesen  and  Special   Envoy Erik Solheim." 
The  Leader of  LTTE,  Mr.V.Pirapaharan, and the Liberation
Tigers are  fully committed to   reaching a just and sustainable
solution through negotiations with the Sri Lanka
 Government.
 However, although 
21  months  have passed since the signing of the 
Memorandum  of  
Understanding  (MoU), the  Sri Lanka Army (SLA) have not
 fully  vacated 
the   temples   and   Schools  
in  the  NorthEast,"  Mr.
 S.P.Tamilselavn  
told  Norway to delicates. "Tamil   people  have not
 benefited from the peace
process. They have not received adequate
 resettlement assistance 
nor have they benefited   from  promises  of
 rehabilitation.Many are
still languishing in refugee centers or living in
 their relative's houses.
Jaffna    peninsula  is virtually under a military
 occupation and the civilians
live in constant fear of harassment," added
 Mr. Mr. S.P.Tamilselavn.
 Mr. S.P.Tamilselavn, 
requested  Foreign Minister Jan Petersen  to  impress
upon the Norway 
Government  to consider providing humanitarian assistance
 and direct funds to the
people of he NorthEast who have lost their means of
 livelihood.
