  Make 
your Radio Podcast (audio file) or short film and enter the national online 
competition today! Send us your Radio Podcast (audio file) or short film of 3 to 
8 minutes' duration in one of the following categories: 
• Biography of an emerging talent (singer, musician, dancer, 
athlete, etc.) or an inspirational figure from a cultural community in Canada.• Fictional subject, or in the case of a short film, an animated short about 
immigration in Canada from your personal perspective. All subjects are accepted, 
including comedy, drama, police drama or, even, science fiction.
 
 In the case of short films produced in whole or in part in another language, 
they must be entered with English subtitles. In the case of Radio Podcast (audio 
file), English voiceovers are required when presenting material in another 
language.
 
 A jury will select the entries which will participate in the on-line competition 
in fall 2007 and will select the winners of the Jury Awards. The jury members 
are Alden Habacon, Ruba Nadda, Mitra Sen and Sunny Yi . The general public will 
select the winners of the People’s Choice prizes.
 
 This contest is open to Canadian and Canadian residents between 18 and 35 years 
old.
 
 There is a French version of the competition called Métissé serré.

 CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS DIGITAL 
DIVERSITY From April 12 to June 29, 2007 
 1. To enter : To enter the Digital Diversity contest, you must produce a 
short film or an audio file on the theme of immigration. Contestants must print, 
complete and sign the official entry form available on the Web site of 
Radio-Canada at the following URL
www.rcinet.ca/digitaldiversity
 
 To be valid, all entry forms, short films and audio files must be sent at the 
following address by June 29, 2007 at 11:59 PM (EST):

 Short films shall be transmitted on DVD (in four (4) copies) , audio files shall 
be transmitted on CD (in four (4) copies), with the following information on the 
CD or DVD cover:
 
 Work type (short film or audio file)

 Contestant name and surname:
 Email:
 Phone number:
 
 Each contestant shall also submit with it entry form a short synopsis (maximum 
of 100 words). Entry forms, DVDs and CDs become the property of CBC and will not 
be returned to contestants.
 
 Each contestant shall abide by the following criteria:
 
 Short film or audio file of a duration varying between three (3) and eight (8) 
minutes;
 
Short film of audio file on one of the following themes: Innovative and constructive look at immigration in Canada;
 Portrait of an inspiring personality from a cultural community;
 Portrait of an emerging talent from a cultural community.
 If the short film is, in whole or in part, in another language than English, it 
shall be submitted with English subtitles.
 If the audio file is, in whole or in part, in another language than English, it 
shall be submitted with English voice over.
 Each contestant acknowledges and guarantees that he has obtained all rights 
necessary to the rights granted for the short film or the audio file submitted, 
that such short film or audio file is original, free and clear of any rights, 
including any rights related to works owned by third parties or related to 
performances of performing artists included in such short film or audio file. 
Contestant acknowledges and guarantees that the short film or audio file does 
not violate any third party rights, for instance any right to privacy, right to 
the image nor contains any defamatory element.
 
 Société Radio-Canada reserves its right to refuse any short film or audio file 
deemed offensive or unacceptable.
 
 By submitting an entry, each contestant grants to Société Radio-Canada an 
exclusive license for the period of September 17, 2007 to March 31, 2008 
authorizing the communication to the public of the short film or audio file on 
the following Web site of Société Radio-Canada: www.rcinet.ca/digitaldiversity. 
This license will also permit the vote of the public from September 17, 2007 to 
November 30, 2007.
 
 No purchase required.
 
 2. Eligibility
 Contest is open to all Canadian residents who are between the ages of 18 to 35 
at the time of entering the contest. Employees of Société Radio-Canada, Apple 
Canada, Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, Sony and Telus, and their 
affiliates, as well as their immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, 
son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to enter 
this contest.
 
 3. Procedure for awarding prizes
 During the month of july 2007, a judging panel of four (4) members chosen by 
Société Radio-Canada will select: (A) one winner in the category of short film, 
(B) the finalists in the category of short films (number of which will vary in 
function of the number of entries), based on the following criteria:
 
 Originality
 Artistic value
 Technical quality
 During the month of july 2007, a judging panel of four (4) members chosen by 
Société Radio-Canada will select the finalists in the category of audio files 
(number of which will vary in function of the number of entries), based on the 
following criteria:
 
 Originality
 Artistic value
 Technical quality
 Finalists short films and audio files will be made available to the public on 
the following Web site of Société Radio-Canada: www.rcinet.ca/digitaldiversity
 
 During the period of September 17, 2007 to November 30, 2007, the public will be 
invited to vote for the winning short films and audio files. The votes will be 
done electronically on the Web site of Société Radio-Canada: 
www.rcinet.ca/digitaldiversity.
 
 The decision of the judging panels and the result of the public vote are 
executory, final and without appeal.
 
 During the month of December 2007, the winning contestants will be contacted by 
phone or email and should claim their prize as instructed by Société 
Radio-Canada.
 
 4. Description of prize(s)
 
 The winners will receive the following prizes:
 
 Short films category:
 
 Jury selection, best documentary: HD Camera, value of $4,600
 Jury selection, best fiction: HD Camera, value of $4,600
 People’s choice award: HD Camera, value of $1,500

 First prize: MacBook 2.0 GHz, value of $1,500

 5. General rules
 
 5.1 Winners shall agree to have their name and/or picture, including their 
photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this 
contest, free of charge.
 
 5.2 Winners shall sign a document attesting to their eligibility and compliance 
of these rules and releasing the Société Radio-Canada, Apple Canada, Fédération 
des producteurs de lait du Québec, Sony and Telus, their affiliates, as well as 
their respective directors, officers and employees, from all liability for any 
damage or loss arising from participation in this contest or from the awarding, 
acceptance or use of the prize.
 
 5.3 The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged for an amount of 
money, nor sold nor transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.
 
 5.4 If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, Société 
Radio-Canada, Apple Canada, Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, Sony 
and Telus, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and 
employees, reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize component with 
another of comparable value.
 
 5.5 Refusal to accept the prize releases Société Radio-Canada, Apple Canada, 
Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, Sony and Telus, their affiliates, 
as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, of any obligation 
toward the winner.
 
 5.6 Should winners make any false statement, they shall be automatically 
disqualified from the contest.
 
 5.7 Société Radio-Canada, Apple Canada, Fédération des producteurs de lait du 
Québec, Sony and Telus, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, 
officers and employees, shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, 
mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, technical, 
computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, 
damage to software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake.
 
 5.8 Société Radio-Canada, Apple Canada, Fédération des producteurs de lait du 
Québec, Sony and Telus, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, 
officers and employees, shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation 
in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their 
control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their 
location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are 
used to hold this contest
 
 5.9 All personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, 
e-mail address and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering 
this contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. 
By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated 
purposes.
 
 5.10 By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules which shall be 
applied by the Société Radio-Canada. All its decisions are final.
